Rhythms from Reality
Foley as Percussion
Apr 3, 2024
Schedule: Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 2:00pm–3:30pm ET
Fee: Free for Soundial Supporters
Capturing your own sounds adds a distinctive texture to your music, transcending the limitations of conventional pre-manufactured audio samples.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use foley and sound design techniques to create your own drum sample pack in Ableton Live.
Using audio clips you’ve recorded, you’ll learn how to trigger samples with a MIDI device and automate audio processing to create a unique sounding percussive landscape. Prior to the start of class, you will be provided with guidance on the process of constructing a dynamic repository of samples.
This workshop is suitable for those with basic knowledge of Ableton Live.
